HOW TO SPA
We look forward to welcoming you to The Merchant Spa. We hope that you will find your time with us both relaxing and rejuvenating. This guide will help you make the most of your visit. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
— Arrival Time
To help you to relax into the experience, we advise you arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment to allow time for consultation and to get settled.
We recommend you aim to use spa facilities before your treatment rather than afterward as products used on your skin might rub off in the sauna / steam room and pool, which will make them less beneficial for you.
— Peace and Quiet
We aim for The Merchant Spa to be a tranquil, restful retreat and so we ask that you respect other guest’s relaxation time and speak softly, or enjoy the silence, throughout your time in the spa. To maintain a peaceful environment, we ask that all mobile phones are switched to silent and not used in the spa. We also ask that you respect the privacy of our guests and not take any photos in the spa area.
— Hydrotherapy Area
In our hydrotherapy area we ask that before you use the sauna, aroma steam room and the hydro pool that you shower under one of our rainfall showers. Guests should wear swimwear whilst in the hydrotherapy area. We do not recommend using the hydrotherapy facilities when pregnant.
— Spa Attire
For your comfort, we will provide you with a luxurious robe, towels and slippers to use throughout your visit. Your modesty will be preserved under our spa towels during your treatment. We provide disposable underwear on request or you are welcome to wear your own underwear. We recommend changing out of wet swimwear before your treatment.
— Relaxation
After all spa treatments, we will bring you to the relaxation room where you can sleep or simply relax and enjoy some refreshments. We ask that you don’t talk, as much as possible, in the relaxation room.
— Home Care
To continue your relaxing spa experience at home we offer our range of Elemis and VOYA in the spa reception.

Inspired by the tradition of seaweed bathing, their certified organic seaweed products are best known for their detoxifying effects. We also provide a range of products from Elemis; the skin, body and wellness experts. Using ground breaking formulas, their blend of science with the power of nature results in products and treatments specifically designed for your individual skincare and lifestyle needs
